Three Foods That Detox Your Body

So, you’ve determined that your body needs a detox. But how do you go about it? There are so many ways, some of them being unsafe. The best and safest way to start out, in my opinion, is to incorporate foods that naturally detox the body into your diet! No starving and surviving on only juices, and no crazy guidelines.

One food, which is my favorite because I’ve been doing loads on research on it lately, and can’t stop finding reasons to incorporate it into my diet is Turmeric. Curcumin is actually the active medicinal ingredient, and it’s got an endless list of different uses.

According to an article titled “36 Foods That Help Detox and Cleanse Your Entire Body” published by Eat Local Grown, “Turmeric has specifically been studied in relation to the positive effect that it has on the liver. As a high antioxidant spice, turmeric protects the body and prevents disease more effectively than drug based treatments and without the side effects.”

Another food that you may need to eat more if, is ginger. An article titled “Detox Foods” by Huffington Post says, “Kick your natural detox process into high gear by adding ginger to your diet. It spikes your metabolism and flushes out waste. Plus, a recent Columbia University study found that eating more ginger just might keep your appetite in check.”

The last, and most general food you should be eating often is raw vegetables. We all try to incorporate veggies into our diets, but at least for me, raw vegetables make a very rare appearance. “Best juiced or eaten raw: Onions, carrots, artichokes, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, kale, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, garlic, beet, turmeric, and oregano. The combination of these foods will help your liver purge toxins during the cleansing process. These are high in naturally occurring sulphur and glutathione. Sulphur helps the liver detoxify harmful chemicals,,” says an article titled “10 Foods That Detox the Body” published by Global Healing Center.
