Women with cereal boxes or soda on their counters weigh this much more

The see-food diet is one that I struggle with on a daily basis. If I see food, I’m going to want to eat it.

Recent research has revealed that those who keep healthy foods in their homes are more likely to eat healthy more of the time, and the same applies to the contrary. If you keep unhealthy foods lying around the house, (even if they’re not for you), you’re less likely to eat a healthy diet.

As published by Medical News Today, researchers photographed 200 kitchens in America. Then, they analyzed the photos to determine how the food sitting on counters related to weight of women who owned the homes.

The results were intriguing. In the homes where breakfast cereal was found on the counter, women were, on average, 20 pounds heavier compared to other study participants. Women with soda cans or bottles on counters weighed in at 24-26 pounds heavier than average.

And those with bowls of fruit? On average, these women were 13 pounds lighter.

Dieting can be extremely difficult, especially if you are living with someone who can eat whatever they want, and never gain a pound. If this person insists on having unhealthy food in the house, a good idea would be to keep it out of sight, and keep your healthy alternative where you can see it, and it is easily accessible.

That doesn’t mean that you won’t want that doughnut in the cabinet, but at least your raw almonds will be within reach.
